Your primary responsibilities will include facilitating focus groups, conducting user interviews, and performing observational research. These activities will enable you to produce detailed user personas, journey maps, workflows, and other UX artifacts that inform and inspire work.
Key Responsibilities:
• Facilitate focus groups: Plan, organize, and lead focus group sessions to gather qualitative data on user experiences, preferences, and pain points.
• Conduct user interviews: Design and execute one-on-one interviews to delve into individual user behaviors and motivations.
• Perform observational research: Observe users in their natural environment or while they interact with our products to gain contextual insights.
• Deliver UX artifacts: Create comprehensive user personas, journey maps, and workflows that translate research findings into clear, actionable insights.
• Collaborate with stakeholders: Work closely with product managers, designers, developers, and other stakeholders to communicate research findings and ensure they are integrated into the product development lifecycle.
• Analyze data: Synthesize qualitative and quantitative data from multiple sources to identify trends, patterns, and key insights.
• Report findings: Prepare and present comprehensive reports, including visual aids, to communicate research outcomes to various audiences.
• Ensure user-centered design: Advocate for the user's perspective throughout the process.
• Document business process design recommendations.
• Stay current: Keep up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and emerging methodologies in user research.
Qualifications:
• Experience: Proven experience in a user research role, with a strong portfolio showcasing examples of your work and the impact of your research.
• Methodology proficiency: Expertise in conducting and facilitating focus groups, user interviews, and observational research.
• UX artifacts: Demonstrated ability to create and utilize user personas, journey maps, workflows, and other artifacts to inform design decisions.
• Analytical skills: Strong analytical skills with the ability to synthesize complex data into clear insights.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present findings effectively to diverse stakeholders.
• Collaboration: A team player who can work closely with cross-functional teams and influence decision-making.
• Tools & software: Proficiency with UX research tools and software (e.g., UserTesting, Optimal Workshop, Dovetail) and design software (e.g., Sketch, Figma, Adobe XD).
